Halloween Panda Dog

The Awl featured a round-up of doggie Halloween costumes spotted in the East Village. Puggle Panda was among them:

Due to the recent destroying of Google Reader, Trevor [now I really don't know what to link you to!] had to find a new way to share panda finds with yours truly. Luckily, he's found a way, but it's nowhere near as fabulous as sharing on Google Reader used to be!!

What is she costumed as? Why, a panda, of course!

Available at Urban Outfitters. If you prefer a regular ol' panda toothbrush holder, those exist too (though I'm not sure where one can obtain it).

A real-life panda cow

Today, in non-panda pandas (pandimals?):

From Time:
"The rare bovine, named Ben, has black ovals around his eyes and a white belly. He’s one of only a few dozen panda-colored minicows in the world, and owner Chris Jessen is hoping to sell him into some collector’s menagerie for about $30,000."

Thanks to Sam K for discovering!

Meet Clifton

Clifton is a panda in disguise, whose photo arrived to me (or, "Damn Son, I like the Zarr," as the case may be) via the postal service in February 2010. Clifton was created by Panda Correspondent Ryan Lue for an art class and relates to issues of panda diplomacy in Taiwan.

when pandas are elephants and they have little mohawks down their backs

today's pictures of the day from the wallstreet journal include this photograph of elephants painted as pandas. the caption reads:

"Elephants painted in black and white were paraded at the Ayutthaya elephant camp, north of Bangkok, Friday to commemorate the birth of a panda cub at the Chiang Mai Zoo. The May 27 birth occurred after years of artificial insemination and efforts to get its celibate parents to mate, triggering a national craze for the animals."
