Panda's Pub Crawl

If you are in Sacramento this weekend be sure to join in on Saturday for Panda's Lightrail Pub Crawl, an all-day event in honor of Sacramento Beer Week. I don't know who "Panda" is, but I know he likes pandas and he likes beer, so he's okay in my book.

Want to become a panda? Buy this hat.

Panda Man is either Alex Pardee or Skinner. Whoever is not Panda Man is Tiger Man. The two artists have a show, The Butcher Kings, up at Gallery 1988 in Melrose through October 29, 2011.

As seen on Laughing Squid.

Panda NYC

Did you know there's a venue in New York called Panda NYC? I didn't, but now I do. To completely quote their Welcome page:

"Panda is a European-style cafe/bar located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Organic coffee & teas, as well as, free wifi set the tone for the daytime and the lounge vibe kicks in with a fantastic happy hour on into the night. In addition, Panda features the work of new & emerging artists through a series of ever-changing exhibitions, installations and performances. Cozy, friendly, and vibrantly eclectic with a wonderful mix of locals and passers-by--Panda is proving to be a favorite destination for the coffee/laptoppers and the nightlifers. In short, Panda = great product, great service, and a great vibe in a great location."

Clearly I have a spot to check out next time I make it to New York City.

Punch Me Panda

Nate Hill of Free Bouncy Ride fame also has a performance piece called Punch Me Panda which is a "man in panda mascot costume with chest protector who you are invited to punch to release frustration."

Punch Me Panda is available for house calls but he, along with Free Bouncy Ride and others in Nate Hill's repertoire will be making scheduled rounds of New York City this March. All performances are free!
