If you are in Sacramento the weekend after this one (i.e. July 9-10, 2011), head over to the Sacramento Zoo to celebrate the reopening of the red panda exhibit, a.k.a. Panda-monium at the Sacramento Zoo. There will be "speakers, activities for children, and of course, Red Pandas." What's not to love?

Firefox = Red Panda

Everyone knows about Firefox. In fact, I'm using it right now. But, what I didn't know (until recently, thanks to Trevor) was that a firefox, in non-internet jargon, is a red panda. Makes sense though. Observe:

Currently, Firefox is helping their namesake by donating funds to a family of firefoxes at the Knoxville zoo and making it all the more adorable by streaming it live. You can donate funds to help the cubs, but, even if you are inexplicably poor, you can still help by simply downloading Firefox. Genius! Now's the time to get all those old fogies/Internet Explorer hold outs to make the switch.

Panda Ha Ha

Loyal Panda Correspondent Trevor brings our attention to this panda silly. Normally I don't copy/paste from other sites, but this joke from Cute Overload by way of Anil Dash was too good to not share here:

"A panda walks into a restaurant, sits down, and orders a sandwich. He eats the sandwich, pulls out a gun, and shoots the waiter dead. As the panda stands up to go, the manager shouts, “Hey! Where are you going? You just shot my waiter, and you didn’t even pay for your sandwich!”

“Hey, man, I’m a PANDA!” the panda shouts back. “Look it up!”

The manager opens his dictionary and reads:
